UArctic Congress 2026

In late May, our researchers participated in the 5th UArctic Congress, held from May 26 to 29, 2026, in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands. The event brought together close to 1,400 participants from nearly 40 countries, making it the largest international conference ever held in the Faroe Islands. UArctic

The Congress program centered around five key themes: sustainable economic development and international cooperation, oceans, climate change in the Arctic, biodiversity, and Indigenous Peoples and northern communities. Across three days, participants engaged in thematic plenary sessions with keynote speakers and panel discussions, as well as parallel sessions where researchers from around the world presented their work and exchanged ideas. A distinctive feature of this year's event was the Ocean Connectivity Conference, organized as part of the Kingdom of Denmark's Arctic Council Chairship program.
